Albert House is registered for 38 beds and has recently been completely re-styled and refurbished to a very high standard.

Upstairs CorridorAll the rooms are beautifully decorated, furnished and well equipped as a Nursing Home for the elderly. We cater for male and female residents and can meet all their daily healthcare needs and other requirements. Albert House has both self-funded and Council-assisted clients who come to us for either long term care or short term respite care.

LiftThe Home is situated within the level part of Weston-super-Mare and consists of a ground- and first-floor with a silent, stretcher-sized lift for easy movement between them. It is close to all amenities, e.g. the Whitecross Road shops plus parks, sea front, bus routes and it is only a 5 minute walk to the Railway Station, whilst the town centre is just 10 minutes away. Wheelchairs can always be provided if relatives wish to take residents out during a visit.

Albert House has 38 single bedrooms all with full wheelchair-friendly en-suite facilities of shower, toilet and hand basin.

All rooms are:

  • are equipped with an electric high/low adjustable bed
  • flat screen colour TV
  • personal commode
  • a Nurse Call Bell with an extended lead with push button
  • phone lines and internet
  • IR Detector below the bed which, when turned on, silently warns the staff via the Nurse Call System when a resident gets out of bed
  • detector on the bedroom door which warns staff if a resident is leaving their room
  • free-swinging doorfor easy access but will close automatically if the Fire Alarm sounds
  • Outside each room we have placed a framed photo of famous stars from the past to help Residents find their room.

There are 3 Lounges where the residents can relax or have chats with the other residents or join in with the arranged daily activities. The lounges are equipped with large flat screen TVs but space has been set aside for those not wishing to watch TV.

Lounge 2Two of the Lounges have large French windows opening onto courtyard gardens and all have additional skylight windows, making them very light and airy. There is also a Dining Room which all residents are encouraged to use so that they do move around during the day. A special hairdressing facility has been installed in an area leading off from one of the lounges for the weekly visits of the professional Hairdresser.

large communal flat-floor shower room which gives easy access for hoists or wheelchairs

3 communal toilets adjacent to the Lounges and Dining Room for easy use during the day, plus 2 visitor and staff toilets.
